A Message from Rick Myers – Custom Saddle Maker

Saddle making is not my weekend hobby, it is the way I make a living, and I like to put a little bit of myself in each saddle. Although each saddle crafted is to your specifications, I am very conscientious about having the saddle fit both you and your horsemanship needs. One of my saddles should outlast several of your horses, and I try to craft a saddle that will become an heirloom you can hand down to your grandchildren. You will see on these pages several unique details such as handmade stamping tools that I use in an effort to add even a little more originality to your saddle.

Although most saddle making schools last only 6 weeks, I spent a full year learning all that I could about saddle making at Texas State Technical Institute over 10 years ago, after which I hung up my sign and started my own business. During these years I have crafted custom designed saddles of all types including show saddles, cutting horse saddles, mule saddles, but the majority of them have been for the everyday working cowboy since I am located in the heart of cattle country in the Arkansas Valley of southeastern Colorado. My clients have included people from all walks of life from around the United States who desired a customized saddle to suit their specifications and needs.
